Amentum Fire Alarm Technician II in Bahamas, The

Amentum is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician II to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in Andros Island, Bahamas . AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop schedules for conducting regulatory Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems.

  • Develop schedules and plans for upgrading existing Fire Alarm Systems to meet current UFC/NFC code requirements.

  • Conduct Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance on Fire and Alarm system including but not limited to replacing batteries, detection devices, and alerting devices in compliance with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and install various types of complete fire and intrusion detection and notification systems to include software programming.

  • Investigating trouble alarms and malfunctions to determine the cause of a malfunction.

  • Identify, coordinate and monitor vendor services as needed.

  • Inspect Dry/Wet Chemical extinguishing systems.

  • Inspect water-based sprinkler systems.

  • Complete connections to commercial kitchen exhaust hood and installed chemical suppression system alarm interface.

  • Review engineering designs and plans to ensure code compliance as it applies to Fire and Intrusion Alarm Systems.

  • Provide technical advice to the Fire Chief.

  • Document inspection, maintenance and repair activities.

  • Produce reports and records and maintain data management systems as required.

  • Perform other position related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • NICET Fire Alarm I certification and 5 years' experience working with Fire and Intrusion Alarm Systems.

  • Must have knowledge and experience with electronic equipment to include test equipment and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Experience Edwards, Honeywell, Monaco, and Siemens alarm systems.

  • Knowledge and experience with conventional and fiber optic telephone communication systems.

  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) transmitting and receiving equipment.

  • Must have knowledge of dry chemical, wet chemical, and water based extinguishing systems.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance.

  • Lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds of equipment or materials.

  • Strong skills with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

  • Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.

  • Valid driver's license and U.S. passport will be required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NICET Fire Alarm II preferred.

  • NICET Sprinkler Systems I or higher preferred.

  • DoD Fire Inspector II preferred.
