J&J Family of Companies New Business Development Director, Asia Pacific in Australia

What Value Does This Role Create?

As a Director of New Business Development, you are responsible for driving Asia Pacific business development (BD) activities – from shaping our BD strategy, making a deal happen, to collaborating with our global teams to achieve inorganic growth both in AP and Globally.

You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, forecasting and championing assets/opportunities which would add to the current portfolio and future pipeline for Janssen Asia Pacific.

To accomplish this, you will lead:

  • Disease area assessments

  • New asset searches

  • Forecasting/ business case development, and

  • commercial due diligence on new assets identified for promotion, licensing, or acquisition transactions.

    Ability to maintain external marketplace knowledge and external & internal relationships will also be critical.

    You will have a significant opportunity to directly drive enterprise growth and expand our reach to treat diseases with high unmet needs.

    Reporting to the Head of Business Development for Asia Pacific, you will work with cross-functional partners in global, regional and country organizations.

We are seeking an individual with outstanding strategic thinking, commercial acumen, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills that can activate and engage the people around them to see potential!

This leader has a proven ability to build productive working relationships, influence without authority, and inject enthusiasm & belief into key stakeholders to support the evaluation and execution of value-creating transactions for Janssen Asia Pacific.

We are looking for talent that comes with 5+ years of experience within the health care industry.

Management consulting experience would be advantageous.

A strong understanding of pharmaceutical markets and a passion to innovate for patients are key success factors.

Other Important Qualifications:

  • University degree, Masters or equivalent in Business/Life Science

  • Proficient English. Additional languages would be an advantage

  • Flexibility to participate in teleconferences outside working hours due to time zone differences

  • This position will require up to 40% international travel.
