About us

IHG has opened its newly built full-service upscale hotel - Crowne Plaza Hobart. The hotel is managed by Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) and owned by Tasmanian locals. The 235 room hotel offers a gymnasium, 9 versatile meeting rooms, and 2 restaurants and bars.

Core Restaurant and Bar celebrates Tasmania's amazing produce with each dish telling a story of land and sea, and the people who make the most of it. The Deck is our outdoor bar on Level 4 - the roof of Myer! This is where you can rug up in the outdoors with mulled cider and wood-fired pizzas and enjoy the views of Kunanyi through all the seasons.

Day to day

Great restaurant memories come from many places. The sights, sounds, scents and, importantly, service. As an F&B Attendant, you’ll welcome our guests, recommend food and drink and help keep service on track and up to standard. By tailoring each guest’s experience to their unique tastes, you’ll create memories as delightful as the dishes.

You’ll also be a helpful host, a local expert, and a proud brand ambassador. Whether you’re preparing drinks exactly as our guests want or serving them delicious food, you’ll be devoted to creating relaxing, memorable experiences.

Requirements

Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending and kneeling Strength – sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects like barrels and crates up to 23 kg

Literate – you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing and basic math

Flexible – night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job

Compliant – as well as meeting local laws on food handling and serving alcohol, you’ll be above the minimum age required and fluent in English

Articulate – a great communicator, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
