Job Description Summary

All resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair, and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. The Services Specialist – Drives will provide direction, mentorship, and assistance to work group to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Field Engineer, you will:

  • Perform troubleshooting activities at site locations to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions

  • Perform installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations

  • Performs a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of GE drive systems

  • Develop presentations and provides training and instruction to customers on drive operations

  • Provide continuous, 24 hour by 7 day a week, support in response to customer calls for service

  • Ensure appropriate response and service is provided to customer.

Required Qualifications:

  • Up to 3 years of experience in the relevant field

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical and mechatronics engineering

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time, as required

  • Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

  • Ability and willingness to work remotely; as required

Desired Characteristics

  • Field Service and Commissioning experience with drives and/or power and/or automation systems and/or dynamic positioning

  • Possess detailed knowledge, competence and expertise with installation and commissioning tasks and services.

  • Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office applications.

  • Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures, and practices.
