Parsons Corporation Principal Engineer (Water and Wastewater) in United Arab Emirates

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Engineer (Water and Wastewater) to join our team! In this role you will get to do complex engineering task related to water/waste water projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Performs various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of advanced principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the civil engineering field.

  • Can independently prepare and supervise the preparation of fundamental engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Able to prepare the detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.

  • Can undertake independent reviews of supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses. Supervise in the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

  • Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project. The engineer will be required to carry out CAD related tasks while using special 3D software and model creation.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

  • The engineer shall be able to independently lead a team of design engineers, hydraulic modelers and draftsmen involved in carrying out designs of collection, conveyance, and disposal of wastewater networks. The engineer shall have proven track record of managing small to medium size design teams as well will demonstrate advance experience and knowledge of preparing and developing hydraulic models for gravity network, design reports and Bentley SewerCAD / SewerGems, InfoSWMM and Infoworks CS.

  • Shall be familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/ or large government projects. Shall be conversant with Water / Irrigation / Firefighting Authority regulations such as DEWA, ADDC/ ADWEA, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD and other relevant authorities within gulf region.

  • Working knowledge of planning, designing and construction of centralized and decentralized wastewater systems, including primary secondary and tertiary wastewater treatment, passive and active systems, sewerage, pumping systems, sludge and effluent management, etc.,

  • Shall have basis experience in creating utility cross sections as per requirements of local authorities in the Gulf region like DMT (Abu Dhabi), etc.

  • Preparation of technical specifications and design reports.

  • Shall be conversant with the British and American codes as well as DEWA / DM regulations for the design of wastewater systems.

  • Shall have experience of liaising with service providers agencies for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals, etc.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering) and master’s degree in water related discipline with about 15 to 20 years of related work experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in UAE/GCC. Candidates with professional qualification (PE, CIWEM or ICE etc.) will be preferred.
