Ulland Brothers Inc Mechanic - Construction Heavy Equipment in Virginia/Cloquet, Minnesota

Ulland Brothers, Inc., is a Civil/Highway-Heavy, aggregate and site development contractor with offices in Carlton, Virginia and Albert Lea, MN. Ulland Brothers has operated in the construction industry for over 100 years.

Job duties include working on all types of mobile heavy construction equipment. This individual will be responsible for the inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of all types of equipment. Repairs will include: heavy equipment, earth moving equipment, asphalt plants, crushing plants, internal combustion engines (gas and diesel), electric motors, generators, air compressors, pumps, and related machinery.

This is a safety sensitive position.

PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment.

  • Verify adherence to OEM, OSHA and MSHA standards and specifications.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.

  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding future repairs and maintenance.

  • Provide a high level of communication with both field and shop staff.

  • Perform additional assignments as requested including ongoing in person or online training.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Two years’ experience with similar types of equipment.

  • Basic welding skills required.

  • Proven mechanical skills required.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Work in various environments and working conditions depending upon assignment.

  • Occasional overtime required.

  • Working at heights & some heavy lifting.

  • Applicants must have a clean driving record.

  • CDL Preferred, obtaining Health Card required.
