SMBC Lead, Product Analysis (Remote) in Virginia

The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. SUMMARY:

Jenius bank has recently launched initial deposit and loan products, and plans to launch credit cards as an acquisition strategy for the bank. The Lead, Product Analysis, will help drive product strategy from concept through launch, along with future iterations, and through ongoing research and analysis of customer behavior, product usage, and product performance over time. Candidate will be joining at the early-stage of product development, and should embrace change and an evolving environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement new product and pricing policies for credit cards; lead product level modeling/analytics

  • Make compelling product recommendations based on customer behavior, competitive environment, sound credit risk management principles, customer experience, and cost benefit analysis.

  • Ability to drive agreement for recommendations through strong written and verbal communications, as well as strategic influencing skills

  • Partner with Marketing, Design, Credit, Operations and Technology teams to ensure smooth execution and all key control requirements are met.

  • Ability to create, drive, and execute an agenda in fluid environment

  • Develop a robust testing agenda to help optimize and expand the business.

  • Develop relationships across all workstreams to foster a transparent and collaborative environment that allows getting work done through others

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in quantitative fields

  • 5+ years of quantitative analysis, specifically with experience in credit cards

  • 2+ years of qualitative analysis, specifically in financial services

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, and demonstrated ability to analyze data and trends to improve product performance

  • Experience partnering with marketing, credit, designers, and other product leaders to drive business strategy

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to explain complex issues and solutions to all levels of management

  • Ability to lead cross-functionally

  • A data-driven approach to problem-solving that is supported with proficiency in Python, SQL, R for extracting data from large datasets and statistical analyses
