Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

SPLIT POSITION: Family Medicine with OB & Hospitalist

Virginia, MN

This is a great opportunity for a physician looking for blended practice . We would work with you to create a schedule/split between outpatient clinic , OB and Hospitalist work that is both rewarding and sustainable.

FAMILY MEDICINE SPECIFICS

  • Our ideal candidate is a motivated, team-player that is interested in helping us build a combined FP & OB/GYN team to cover needs at our Virginia, MN, regional, medical complex

  • Team-based, outpatient clinical practice

  • Approximately 250 births (annually) at Essentia Health, Virginia, Hospital

  • Recent “Baby Friendly” designation for Virginia Hospital

  • Remote fetal monitoring

  • Family Medicine with surgical OB & OB’s provide back up for C sections

  • On-site Chronic Disease Management nursing support

  • Nurse Online Triage 24/7

  • Multi-specialty clinic includes: 6 Family Medicine with 4 advanced practitioners with Integrated Behavioral Health, Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Occupational Medicine, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, Consultative Pediatrics, General Surgery, and visiting specialties

  • EPIC integrated with Essentia system

HOSPITALIST SPECIFICS

  • Shifts are 7:00 AM – 700 PM; flexible schedule.

  • Work as part of a collaborative team with an Advanced Practice Provider

  • Dedicated Nocturnist

  • ICU coverage; including ventilator management

  • Provide code and rapid response coverage

  • Procedures not required

  • Essentia Health Virginia Hospital is a 30-bed hospital, Level IV Trauma Center, and certified Stroke Ready facility

  • Full laboratory; radiology to include MRI and CT services

  • Close collaboration with the Essentia Health Duluth specialists and hospitalists

  • EPIC as EMR that is integrated with the entire Essentia system

REQUIREMENTS

  • BC/BE Family Practice Physician with strong interest/experience in hospital-based care

  • OB Required C-sections preferred

  • Essentia Health willing to provide mentorship

LOCATION

  • Approx. 60 miles from Duluth, MN; 150 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul

  • Service area: 30,000 – Virginia Population: 9,000
