Thrive Proactive Health Massage Therapist in Virginia Beach, Virginia

We are looking to expand the times we are offering our Massage Therapy services with more evening and Saturday coverage. Some morning and mid day weekdays also available (limited by room availability).

PRIMARY EXPECTATIONS:

Create a healthy, stress-free environment to deliver professional, therapeutic and rejuvenating massage therapies to patients and clients (i.e. customers). Expected to demonstrate competency in customer focus, stress management/composure, and time management. Must align with our company values of quality, teamwork, and innovation as we creatively work together as a Team to enhance the customer experience and integrate disciplines.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner, provide great and professional customer service at all times.

  • Create a soothing environment for our customers including maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitized work environment.

  • Discuss the customer’s needs (pain relief, stress relief, etc.) and work with the physical therapy staff when appropriate to provide the massage necessary to best alleviate the customer’s issues.

  • Always respect the customer’s privacy and comfort levels. Include checking in regularly with the customer throughout their massage to ensure comfort.

  • Manage schedule in a timely manner and use proper time management to start and finish appointments on time.

  • Document client’s condition, concerns, and progress in our charting system to maintain up to date records to promote interoffice communication and healthy integrated care between disciplines.

  • Participate in team meetings and projects and contributes to a positive team spirit. Puts success of the team above own interest and supports everyone’s efforts throughout the office to succeed.

  • Assure creams and linens remain stocked between appointments. Assist team with laundry procedures and ordering supplies as necessary

  • Be willing to provide 30, 60, and 90 minute massage services and all the other services on the service menu.

  • Maybe cross trained to help in PT or Chiropractic departments if needed and desired. Participate in a teamwork approach as needed. May assist physical therapy staff with exercises, quick releases, patient education, assessment of soft tissue and joint mobility, and manual techniques to improve efficiency of care.

  • Maybe help front desk or back end team during downtime. May need to assist team members as needed with front end and back end office responsibilities. This may include office administrative tasks, answering phones, cleaning and making sure the office is always neat and tidy, or marketing activities outside of the clinic. Be open and flexible to perform other duties as requested.

  • Participate in continued education activities and educational courses. Be open to learning new techniques and incorporating Postural Restoration Techniques and neuro-respiratory principles in appropriate therapy sessions.

  • Understand non-solicitation and confidentiality for all our customers.  All customers’ files are clients of Thrive Proactive Health.  No therapist is allowed to take any client information from our business or massage any of our clients outside of our programs. We discourage any conflict of interest that will confuse the integrity of our culture and brand.

  • Understand employee relationship. All massage therapists are hired under an employer/employee relationship and will be subject to all rules and regulations therein. Massage therapists are expected to work with their supervisor to create a schedule that fits their needs and is fair to all other team members.

  • All therapists must practice good hygiene, and present themselves in a professional manner at all times. Company dress code and comfortable apparel will be provided.
