Job Summary:

The position of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Robotics Technician maintains, repairs, receives, issues, and tracks a variety of robotic systems for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Expeditionary Support Unit (EODESU TWO). EODESU TWO serves as the materiel, maintenance, and logistics support commodity manager for EODGRU TWO commands.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Augment robotic systems maintenance and repair efforts aboard EODESU TWO, perform operational tests per manufacture guidelines, and provide training in the same.

  • Assist with the issue and receipt of robotic systems aboard EODESU TWO.

  • Conduct inventory accounting of robotic systems in-use by EODGRU TWO and its subordinate commands, and report status to the EODESU Materiel Department Head/Leading Chief Petty Officer at least monthly. Obtain and maintain access to RCRP, DPAS, or other designated government authoritative database as appropriate, to monitor inventories and report discrepancies/shortfalls.

  • Forecast consumable material needs and develop purchase requests to support maintenance and repair of robotic systems.

  • Obtain service quotes for repair to robotic systems when required, and schedule and track the status of robotic systems undergoing maintenance or repair by outside activities, providing status updates as required.

  • Properly utilize, store, and dispose of HAZMAT as required for system maintenance.

  • Qualify as 3M Maintenance Person aboard EODESU TWO within 90 days of placement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four years of experience as a Robotics Systems Electronics Technician or six years of experience as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician is required.

  • Experience with the maintenance and troubleshooting of iRobot, Foster-Miller, and Seabotix unmanned robotics system is highly preferred.

  • Capable of operating test equipment, electrical hand tools, and basic hand tools.

  • Proficient in the use of basic computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Maintain system certifications for maintenance on all assigned robotic units.

  • Possess a valid CPR certification in accordance with standards of the American Heart Association.

  • Eligible for a Secret clearance.

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Reliable and personable; enjoy working with a diverse range of individuals.

  • Excellent communication .

  • Ability to travel (10% anticipated) .
