Atlantic Diving Supply, Inc. Business Development Manager - Medical (MTF/VA) in Virginia Beach, Virginia

We are seeking a driven, high performing candidate with strong medical sales experience. This position will be responsible for the growth and development of Military Treatment Facilities [MTFs] and VA accounts. An effective Business Development Manager understands and can articulate their position in the customer landscape and vendor community and that understanding to revenue.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

  • Create and execute sales plan that brings value and measurable revenue to ADS
  • Develop and present annual plan to management
  • Assess this plan quarterly and adjust as needed
  • Develop long term plan for Market Growth

NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT / PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

  • Complete joint visits with Suppliers to communicate ADS offerings to customers at VAs and MTFs
  • Understand current climate of customer to provide short term and long terms needs of Customers at VAs and MTFs
  • Identify problem Manufacturers and communicate options for a solution to team for collaborative resolve
  • Travel to VA VISN Contracting Offices to learn about requirements while in development
  • Meeting with the Prosthetics Departments at every VA to learn about hospital and patient specific needs
  • Educating customer base on ADS Platform and identify existing capability gaps with customer
  • Leverage existing partner base to fill those gaps or seek new technology within industry
  • Negotiate terms with existing suppliers to maximize overall margin
  • Well-versed and able to articulate the ADS Value Proposition and identify new vendors and assess viability for partnerships
  • Travel to new vendor facilities to assess capability and products and to best understand where ADS can add value
  • Maintain deep relationships with vendor community - continually reinforce ADS value proposition
  • Understand competitive landscape for category, both customer facing and vendor facing

CONTRACT EDUCATION

  • Full understanding of ADS Contracts
  • Be able to articulate contract overview to customers

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS

  • 65% TRAVEL REQUIRED

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be friendly and likeable comfortable talking to "anyone"
  • Must be competitive and have a winning spirit
  • Must be a team player and work well with others
  • Must be utterly committed to providing legendary customer service
  • 5 years minimum of Medical Sales experience, preferably into the Government, or have a significant background in dealing with or working with the MTFs and VAs
  • 2 years of experience with MS Office tools, email, etc.
  • Must demonstrate willingness to learn and adopt ADS selling techniques REACH
  • Must be capable of cultivating and strengthening existing relationships while still identifying new customers
  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred, but prior sales and military experience may be substituted

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be an excellent communicator both in writing and in person
  • Able to use customer and prospect contact activities tools (CRM systems) and update relevant information held in these systems as required
  • Absolutely must be a self-starter with a will and desire to be the best at what you do
  • Understanding of government contracts and purchasing vehicles desired
