About the Role

The Bottle Making & Liquid Making Team Leader is responsible for effectively managing production activities and resources for the Bottle and Liquid Making manufacturing areas at the Villawood Plant to deliver the agreed to business results and drive continuous improvement while maintaining positive employee relations.

This is achieved through collaborative partnerships with Supply Chain colleagues and cross-functional partners. The primary accountabilities of the role include daily production schedule adherence, customer service, capacity planning, area financial performance, and implementation of Operational Excellence initiatives (EHS, Quality, Factory Performance & Reliability), microbiology, labour relations, people and team development.

  • Manages people, materials and equipment by active presence on the shop floor to achieve the daily production schedule and deliver area KPI's

  • Accountable for Operational Excellence initiatives (EHS, Quality, FP&R) and activities of the production area to deliver high levels of service to internal and external customers

  • Effectively addresses labour relations issues in the area as appropriate according to CP Managing with Respect principles

  • Tracks and analyses financial variances associated with materials, finished products and other components of the plants’ conversion cost including labour cost and operating supplies

  • Accountable for adhering to Colgate-Palmolive standards and governmental regulations related to area of responsibility

  • Ensures compliance with facility policies and procedures e.g. crewing, shift rotation, vacation scheduling etc. to meet business needs

  • Identifies, recommends, and implements manufacturing cost reduction programs

  • Identifies, recommends and implements liquid making capacity programs to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure liquid making adequately meets current and future demands of the Villawood downstream operations

  • Executes new technology

  • Communicates and implements the local Supply Chain vision, mission, strategy, and objectives

  • Ensures the development of people, teams, and organizational capabilities by way of training, information sharing,mentor, feedback, delegation, and performance management

  • Ensures the effective management and implementation of change initiatives in the bottle and liquid making areas in line with the Villawood change management process

  • Coordinates maintenance activities, and reviews the area layout and workflows frequently

The Ideal Candidate

Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science who is keen to learn and develop into a corporate leader of tomorrow

3 - 5 year’s experience in a FMCG Organization, including supervisory experience

Candidates should preferably have prior experience in either Quality / Microbiology, Engineering, Manufacturing or Planning
