Tendering Engineer – French or German speaking

Centrifugal Compressors

Job Summary:

The position will provide tactical sales support for Ingersoll Rand Compressors Europe division, focused on the centrifugal portfolio. Incumbent will provide insides sales support through application guidance, competitive positioning, specification review, and special options pricing/delivery.

Position requires to be fluent in English and either French or German languages (candidate is expected to analyze customer requests in English and French or German, elaborate full technical and commercial proposal and interact with local Sales teams and when required directly with customer).

Responsibilities:

  • Product Application: Provide support to the sales force in application/use of equipment through customer requirements.

  • Competitive and Solutions Strategy: Develop competitive and solutions strategies in conjunction with the sales teams to position Ingersoll Rand solutions in an effort to capture orders. Advocate customers for product features and system solution design.

  • Create proposals: Review Customer Requisitions/Specifications, Select the Best compressor from our optimized Portfolio, obtain vendor quotes for outside purchase items, and prepare best in class proposal in local language, including delivery and price of equipment.

  • Provide timely, accurate, and complete replies to inquiries from the Sales Team.

  • Be owner of the Price Make-Up (PMU) of the project

  • Technical Support: Provide Product technical guidance aligning customer requirements. Interface with our Engineering team for any special requests. Act as technical resource to support sales efforts.

  • Interface between Sales and Factories (Planners, Quality,…) during the complete Tendering stage

  • Understand contract requirements and convert them into company language in the order write-up.

  • Order Entry: Support the Order Management team, insuring the order is correctly entered in our system

  • Customer Management: Participate in project kick off meetings and host customer during plant visits during tendering phase.

Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of experience in Application Engineering, Contract Engineering, Product Management and/or Sales, preferably in Rotating equipment products or Industrial markets.

  • PC proficient to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

  • Bachelor’s Degree - Engineering.

  • Knowledgeable in Centrifugal Compressor Technology or other similar Rotating Equipment

  • Language Skills: fluent in English and either French or German languages. Italian language not required for the position.
