JOB DESCRIPTION: USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHER

We are seeking an intermediate User Experience Researcher (UX Research) with exposure to Agile Product Owner tasks to join our ten-person team supporting the United States (U.S.) Army. As the bridge between our development team and stakeholders. You will use your creativity to define and prioritize product features, gathering and documenting requirements, and lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-wide Digital Transformation solutions. Your expertise in UX research will be instrumental in guiding product design decisions and driving user-centric innovation in this customer-facing role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. UX Research:

• Conduct user and stakeholder interviews and interpret app telemetry to gather insights into user behavior and preferences.

• Analyze research findings to identify user pain points, needs, and opportunities for improvement.

• Translate user insights into actionable recommendations for product features, and user stories, and pseudo code for developers.

  1. Product Ownership:

• Translate stakeholder objectives into concise business questions based on their needs and translate customer needs into executable requirements/user stories.

• With direction from the Project Manager prioritize Sprint backlog items

• Work closely with the development team to ensure clear understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Manage cradle-to-grave product development lifecycle for new apps/bots and enhancements.

• Manage 1-2 developers. (e.g., routine 1:1 meetings, performance feedback, career growth)

  1. User-Centric Design:

• Creatively design mockups based on user-centered design principles.

• Collaborate with developers to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces that enhance the overall user experience.

• Continuously monitor and iterate on product designs based on user feedback and usability testing results.

• Provide Change Management and process improvement recommendations across all product delivery phases to focus on key stakeholders, minimize disruptions, and drive successful adoption of new tools and processes.

  1. Stakeholder Communication:

• Facilitate communication and collaboration between stakeholders, project team, and other cross-functional teams.

• Cultivate strong customer relationships.

• Present product updates, app training, and project progress to stakeholders, soliciting feedback and incorporating input into product roadmap planning.

Experience Requirements:

• Mandatory: Experience: 8 years of experience (including internships) designing, developing, testing and deploying solutions with at least 3 years experience in UX research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
