Dynamic Integrated Services Strategic Communications Consultant in Vienna, Virginia

Dynamic Integrated Services (DIS) is a proud Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business based in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area providing management consulting services to federal agencies and organizations supporting the public sector. DIS offers exceptional client services in the areas of Strategic Communications and Integrated Marketing (SCIM), Information Technology, and Enterprise Optimization.

We are currently seeking a Communications Consultant to join our SCIM practice. The idea candidate has a strong background in content creation for newsletters, blogs, fact sheets, and other marketing materials, committee/committee meeting management, video production, social media, and strategic communications. Strong writing, editing (AP style), organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential to success in this position. Experience in communicating about the privacy and cybersecurity arenas is a plus.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop or contribute to production of written materials, such as communication plans, fact sheets, FAQs, website content, talking points, newsletters, and email messages, to support internal and external strategic communications campaigns
  • Ensure that created content is compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and adheres to branding strategies
  • Develop or contribute to production of video creative briefs, story boarding, scripting, and post-production
  • Lead management of a monthly subject matter expert call program, including promotion, attendance, agenda, leadership preparation, and after-action reporting
  • Support team special event production activities
  • Strategize and create original ideas for reaching and engaging target audiences and communicating key messages
  • Assistin maintenance of project documentation

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degreerequired, preferably in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field
  • Three to six years of professional experience
  • Previous experience working for a federal government contractor, consulting organization, public relations, or marketing agency, and/or national association
  • Experience in planning, developing, and implementing, communications, marketing/public relations activities, including developing communications plans, strategies, messages, and tactics as part of an outreach or education campaign
  • Experience developing and producing communications tools, such as newsletters, fact sheets, media releases, scripts, and talking points
  • Excellent writing, conceptual, and copy-editing skills
  • Experience with traditional and nontraditional social marketing and communications strategies
  • Creative and analytical thinking skills
  • Strong oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Strong attention to detail for error-free, flawless products
  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in team setting or independently
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work under tight timelines
  • MS Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting strategic communications efforts at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and/or one of its threeadministrations
