Navy Federal Credit Union Intern - Year Round (Energy Management and Control Systems) in Vienna, Virginia

Overview

To gain valuable insight into Navy Federal's business, technology, resources and procedures by providing support in focused areas, applying knowledge and education. Participate in a collaborative, team driven network and interact with multiple departments. Receive guidance and direction from team and management. Utilize and further develop technical and soft skills, business knowledge, analytical techniques and creative problem solving abilities. Provide professional execution of day to day tasks and special projects while working within established standards, policies and procedures. This is a year-round, Full or Part -Time, flexible internship based on school schedule.

An intern selected for this position will enhance their HVAC control skills, including their knowledge of facility automation. As well as providing support in focused areas, the intern will gain valuable insight into Navy Federal's business, technology, resources, and procedures. The intern will work directly with mechanical and electrical equipment and assist the technicians with updating our maintenance processes and safety manuals (according to NFPA requirements) in order to reflect the current regulations.

This internship will be fully onsite at our Vienna, Virginia campus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controls Specialists in troubleshooting technical issues

• Support the Energy Management and Control Systems (EMCS) department; may work on small projects as well as portions of larger projects

• Contribute to the accomplishment of tasks/assignments by assisting or collaborating with different

levels of staff

• Make internal customer service a priority in all interactions, maintaining professionalism at all times

• Providing comprehensive day-to-day support for the organization

• Possess the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

• Work with the supervisors and Senior Specialists of the EMCS and Facility Operations teams to

develop the Facilities Contingency and Safety programs

• Become familiar with the FMD work order system so that EMCS supervisors and Senior Specialists

are able to track open employment requests and generate reports regarding team statistics

• Develop an understanding of the various roles within the Headquarters Facility Management teams

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Effective computer skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills needed

• Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment to meet deadlines

• Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and in person

• Independent ability to handle assigned projects

• Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

• Capacity to adapt to new technologies

• Must be pursing degree from an accredited college/university
