The role:

Opportunities exist for an Analyst to join our Chemistry team at our North Melbourne lab, on a 6 month fixed term contract. Hours of work are Monday-Friday, 38hrs per week (day shift).

As a Level I Analyst, you will be directly responsible for conducting routine sample preparation and weighing of samples. You may also conduct basic testing using manual, semi-automated, and fully automated techniques.

Your day to day will include but is not limited to:

  • Weighing samples for a range of tests within the Chemistry Laboratory

  • Performing basic testing and sample preparation

  • Performing calibrations of laboratory equipment

  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment

  • Coordinating with internal clients

  • Plus any other duties as required, as matched to your level of experience and skill.

What’s needed?

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:

  • Hands on experience in a laboratory environment (preferably Chemistry/Food related)

  • Ability to prioritise work in order to meet daily deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a team

  • Demonstrable knowledge of OHS requirements within a laboratory

  • Experience in Labware/LIMS (Desirable)

Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing and the ability to meet site inductions will be a requirement of working on site.
