Mississippi Employer Logistics Specialist in Vicksburg, Mississippi

Duties: · Oversee and participate in the warehouse operations and activities.

· Receive, process and issue warehouse stock

· Assure stock and warehouse facility is maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition.

· Receive, identify, label, and place materials sent to the warehouse according to established procedures.

· Process Requisitions for supplies; prepare various merchandise for delivery; prepare packages for shipping according to established procedures.

· Communicate with various personnel, departments, vendors, and others to provide and receive information, resolve questions and issues and coordinate activities.

· Maintain a variety of records, files, and reports, maintain an accurate record of stock and order supplies as necessary.

· Check all inventory on a regular basis to be sure inventory matches bookkeeping and ERP records.

· Work along accounting and local purchasing for updated record keeping.

· Operate a computer to process reports and forms and maintain inventory of warehouse materials as required.

· Receive and check the incoming raw material if the numbers and product descriptions match the packing list.

· Receive the finished goods and samples from production on site.

· Responsible for WH IN and WH OUT functions by first in and first out, the raw material is based on the packing list. The finished good is by measuring and weighing.

· Maintain proper records, conduct spot check stock takes.

· Generate the inventory report for raw material, finished goods and samples.

· Prepare all shipping documents.

· Tracking all packages and products

· Arrange shipments out and return shipments

· Monitor and distribute shipping schedules to inform the arrivals and the outgoing products

· Communicate with forwarders and transportation companies to compare rates and updates on shipments, evaluate logistic suppliers.

Qualifications: - Prior experience in a warehouse setting preferred - Work experience in shipping logistics in all areas: freight, ocean and air.

  • Knowledgeable of import and export documentation
  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines for warehouse safety
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks throughout the day
