Description

Amazon is looking for a results-oriented leader to grow our renewables strategy across APJC region. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying innovative solutions to unlock new renewable and carbon free energy opportunities, negotiating and executing contracts and investment plans to deliver low-cost carbon-free energy supply to AWS data centers. The candidate will need to be able to identify key market conditions, regulations, and market structures to develop and deliver on a comprehensive energy procurement strategy. The optimal candidate will have a result orientated approach, analytical skill set, strong financial acumen, an extensive network with developers, IPPs, funds, and financiers across the energy industry value chain and a strong track record of carbon-free energy transactions in APJC.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive carbon free energy and utilities strategy for AWS data centers;

• Lead investment activities with a strong focus on renewable transactions from early stage development through commercial operations;

• Lead market analysis, transaction origination, (co-)development, structuring, business and financial diligence;

• Work closely with external technical resources for the development, construction and operating phase;

Basic Qualifications

• At least 10+ years of experience working in energy/infrastructure/finance industry.

• A proven experience in structured energy transactions and complex contract negotiations.

• Deep understanding of the links between PPAs, investment models and project finance documentation.

• Deep experience in APJC power markets.

• Strong written and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience in energy markets, energy trading, power contract negotiations, energy regulations, renewable development, or energy generation technologies

• Existing active network to developers, IPPs, utilities, funds, financiers, governments and/or multilaterals in the APJC region;

• Have a demonstrated experience in structured energy transactions and contract negotiations, a deep understanding of the links between PPAs, investment models and project finance documentation, direct agreements, bank and corporate guarantees and inter creditor agreements;

• Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills and attention to details
