Summary:

Our company has an immediate opening for a skilled and dedicatedEquipment OperatorinVero Beach, Fl. The Equipment Operatorwill be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery used in the construction of roadways, sidewalks, and other infrastructure projects. This role requires proficiency in handling equipment such as front end loaders, rollers, excavators, and skid steers. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • EquipmentOperation:
    • Operate heavy equipment including front end loaders, rollers, excavators, and skid steers.
    • Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure proper functioning and safety.
    • Safely maneuver equipment in tight spaces and on uneven terrain.
  • Construction Activities:
    • Assist in the construction of roadways, sidewalks, and other infrastructure projects.
    • Grade and level surfaces to specified requirements.
    • Load, transport, and unload materials as needed.
    • Assist with excavation, trenching, and back-filling operations.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
    • Follow project plans and specifications to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with other crew members to complete projects efficiently.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress and any issues encountered.
    • Assist with manual labor tasks as required to support the team.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
  • Proven experience as an equipment operator in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in operating front end loaders, rollers, excavators, and skid steers.
  • Knowledge of construction procedures, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor tasks.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Shift:7am-5pm
  • Pass drug test, fit-for duty test and background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and operate machinery for extended periods.
  • Capability to perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, and moving materials.

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor construction sites with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Noise levels associated with heavy equipment operation.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • May require extended hours, including nights and weekends, depending on project needs.
