Vernon Downs Banquet Server in Vernon, New York

This a part-time, on-call position with no regular schedule. It is ideal for people looking to make some extra money evenings and weekends without having to commit to working every weekend or evening.

Responsible for providing efficient service and meaningful experiences. Banquet servers are also responsible for making each banquet visually appealing and focusing on outstanding guest service. This may include linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service. Prepare any items that will be present on the table when guests enter, including salt and pepper, sugar bowls, butter and salad dressings. Other duties include general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintaining a sanitary environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.

• Actively supports the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.

• Perform all Banquet side work as designated by the Banquet Captain and follow directions from the Food & Beverage Supervisor.

• Assists with proper setting of tables using BEO for instructions and specifications and be able to answer any questions that the guest have about the menu or facility in a courteous manner.

• Serve all catered food and beverage items to guests during private events in a timely, friendly, enthusiastic and professional manner in accordance with our guest service standards.

• Monitors customer needs on a continual basis ensuring all requests will be promptly fulfilled.

• Performs as a team member with venue Hosts, Supervisors, Banquet Captain, Bus People and Kitchen Staff in producing a smoothly and efficiently run operation.

• Maintain a smooth operation of banquet facility by keeping all work areas clean and safe, assisting in break-down of banquet rooms following events, completing closing side work as required.

• All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required. Previous banquet server experience preferred.
