National Winter Actvity Center SUMMER: Hospitality in Vernon, New Jersey

Position:

Hospitality (Full-Time and Part-Time)

Season:

Summer (June 2024 - August 2024)

Reports to:

Judie Aspinall, Director of Base Operations

Position Purpose:

To keep our campus clear of excessive waste and maintain a safe environment for our participants to be on.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.

  • Able to complete assignments with minimal supervision.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to handle all situations in a professional and timely manner.

  • Must be punctual, reliable, able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

    Responsibilities:

  • Snow and ice removal with the use of plows, blowers and spreaders for driveways, walkways, decks, steps, and additional assigned areas, which may require early hours and/or extended hours.

  • Filling salt, sand and deicer in storage or designated piles.

  • Sweep and mop floors.

  • Vacuum rugs and carpets.

  • Dust and polish furniture.

  • Respond to and clean any spills or overflows.

  • Empty, clean and line waste receptacles; dispose of trash and/or recycle materials; pick up trash on ground areas.

  • Wash doors, windows, walls, and ceilings.

  • Clean and disinfect restrooms including floors, walls, fixtures, and mirrors; restock supplies as needed

  • Move furniture and equipment

  • Reports the need for maintenance and repairs to the facility manager and assist others in making repairs as needed.

  • Cleans debris from facility grounds including parking lots.

  • Close windows, turn lights on and off, lock and unlock doors and secure the buildings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time.

  • Will be required to climb stairs, walk up and down inclines and uneven terrain.

  • Ability to work effectively in extreme cold weather conditions and in other inclement weather conditions.

  • Must be able to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
