Description:

Aston Carter is partnered with a large manufacturing company in South LA looking for a Payroll Clerk. In this position, you will be under the guidance of the Payroll Manager and provide support nationwide to managers and employees regarding union issues, payroll issues, and other payroll requirements.

Skills & Qualifications:

• A minimum of two years of education or experience above a high school diploma or on the job experience of two years

• Must have at least 2 years of experience working in a payroll and/or human resources department.

• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.)

• Experience with HRIS, payroll and benefits databases.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Job Duties:

• Ensure accurate input and process of weekly and biweekly payrolls.

• Prepare all required payroll reports.

• Answer employee questions regarding payroll-related questions.

• Must process weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for various departments and organizations.

• Process unemployment claims.

• Prepare special reports as required by management.

• Assist the Human Resources Dept. with new employee set-up and employment terminations.

• Provide administrative support to the department, which includes filing, off-cycle check processing, and other payroll-related duties.

• Process monthly billing for union dues and union health insurance.

• Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner

• Follow department and company procedures

• Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company

• Other duties as assigned
