Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the oversight of the Customer Services & Operations Support Group’s efforts field ridership data collection efforts on subways and buses. This Superintendent will be required to follow policies and procedures set forth to monitor and report on the

accuracy and integrity of all data collected on surface point checks for both NYCT and MTA Bus routes and Rapid data collection on all subway lines used as a means of setting accurate service levels. The Superintendent will ensure that subway fare evasion is collected accurately on all tours. In addition, the Superintendent is responsible to quality control the Bus Stop Guide-A-Ride group and to cross over to multiple cadres when necessary, Using the current, and establishing new strategies, the Superintendent will lead a team of hourly and supervisory employees.

Therefore, this position must effectively adjust to ever changing priorities without losing focus or direction. It is essential that this Unit be headed by a person who can manage the priorities and deadlines conducive to continued successful execution of the agency’s ridership data collection efforts.

Education and Experience

A Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field, and six (6) years of full-time professional work experience in large rapid transit operations, two (2) years of which must have been in a managerial/ supervisory capacity, Or.

A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

Desired Skills

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to operate in a professional and confidential manner.

Knowledge of Subway and Bus lines and routes &to be able to quickly navigate the city using public transportation.

Working knowledge of all Microsoft packages.

A driver’s license valid in NYS
