ASRC Federal Holding Company Satellite Control Network Chief of Operations in Vandenberg, California

Agile Decision Sciences, LLC. (ADS), a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems.

ADS is seeking a Satellite Control Network (SCN) Chief of Operations at Vandenberg Tracking Station (VTS), Vandenberg SFB, CA.

This is in anticipation of favorable award of the Satellite Control Network Tracking Station Operations, Remote Site and Mission Partner Support (STORMS) Task Order providing operations and organizational maintenance for the SCN.

Key Role:

  • Oversees the operational activities at the Remote Tracking Station (RTS), managing a 24x7 work force of operations and maintenance (O&M) technicians working with RF, digital telecommunications, encryption and networking systems. 

  • Manages the O&M activities including readiness, training, exercises, rehearsals, and all scheduled satellite pass supports. 

  • Ensures proficiency of all operations personnel, proper position staffing and operator response to pass support requirements and directions. 

  • Ensures that all RTS personnel are trained and certified in accordance with established procedures and requirements.  

  • Verifies maintenance activities are properly scheduled, performed and documented.  Uses the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) to schedule, document and track maintenance activities, to include unscheduled equipment failures and preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs). 

  • Develops, monitors, and updates processes and process improvements to operations and maintenance activities. 

  • Establishes operations measurement techniques to verify standardized and effective operations. Ensures operational policies and programs meet all requirements for SCN mission support.

  • Monitors and manages maintenance activities for Mission Partner equipment as required.

Requirements :

Required Qualifications:

  • Typical education and experience are a high school diploma and 6-8 years experience (2-4 years with an Associate’s degree) in communications/electronics operation and maintenance support.

  • A minimum 4 years of experience associated with the Satellite Control Network (SCN) and Remote Tracking Stations (RTS).

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance, and ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently or previously SCN operations and maintenance qualified/certified

  • Experience at overseas locations is desirable

  • The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience at an SCN Remote Tracking Station performing operations and maintenance as a COS, COO, or shift-lead
