ASRC Federal Holding Company Satellite Control Network Chief of Support in Vandenberg AFB, California

Agile Decision Sciences, LLC. (ADS), a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems.

ADS is seeking a Satellite Control Network Chief of Support at

Vandenberg Tracking Station (VTS), Vandenberg SFB, CA.

This is in anticipation of favorable award of the Satellite Control Network Tracking Station Operations, Remote Site and Mission Partner Support (STORMS) Task Order providing operations and organizational maintenance for the SCN.

Key Role:

  • Oversees the maintenance and support activities at the site to include a 24x7 work force of operations and maintenance (O&M) technicians working with RF, digital telecommunications, encryption and networking systems.

  • Verifies maintenance activities are properly scheduled, performed and documented. Use the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) to schedule, document and track maintenance activities, to include unscheduled equipment failures and preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs).

  • Coordinates authorized service interruptions (ASIs or “down time”) with customers and AFSCN schedulers to perform PMIs.

  • Verifies receipt and proper staging of equipment for depot teams. Receive and coordinate updates to maintenance documentation from depot to include redlines, technical order (TO) changes and process changes due to depot activities.

  • Verifies proper logistics support for the site’s maintenance activities, to include ready spares as allotted, proper tools and test equipment available, and parts ordering processes respond to needs. Oversee and verify inventories of spares, supplies, tools and equipment, and verify proper and accurate updates to applicable inventory documentation.

  • Verify personnel comply with contractor conduct, qualification/certification, and ancillary training requirements. Coordinates personnel schedules to complete maintenance training activities and qualification of maintenance certifications for the Site Manager and Chief of Operations.

  • Perform daily verifications on all IMDS, ESD, and R.O.A.D.S inputs ensuring all systems are consistently up to date and all inputs are correct and properly represent the current situational status of the site and all sides.

  • Develop and review all O&M related site-specific Operating Instructions

  • Monitor, perform, and manage maintenance activities for Mission Partner equipment

  • Monitor the Host Base Tenant Agreement, review and update installation plans and monitor down time requests for facility maintenance and other required maintenance for associate contractors

Requirements :

Required Qualifications:

  • Typical education and experience are a High school diploma and 6-8 years experience (2-4 years with an Associate’s degree) in communications/electronics operation and maintenance support.

  • A minimum 4 years of experience associated with the Satellite Control Network (SCN) and Remote Tracking Stations (RTS).

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance, and ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently or previously SCN operations and maintenance qualified/certified

  • Experience at overseas locations is desirable

  • The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience at an SCN Remote Tracking Station performing operations and maintenance as a COS, COO, or shift-lead
