  • Support System Operations with O&M and project tasks primarily focusing on WAN and Packet Transport Systems. Tasks include provisioning switches and routers, and Packet Transport Systems (OMET, NGT, etc.) equipment.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Design, Construction, and Field Maintenance organizations to address O&M issues and understand their needs in developing and completing projects. Tasks include:
  • Active participation in meetings and completing tasks that are either assigned or volunteered.
  • Assist in system design and O&M issues of telecommunications backbone with a focus on Packet Transport Systems and WAN with mission critical reliability requirements, to include the infrastructure support systems. Tasks include:
  • Document architectural designs using Visio,
  • Evaluate systems design with a FISMA/NERC CIP perspective.
  • Work with diverse teams to complete schedule driven targets.
  • Provide clear documentation for training proposes after project tasks related to Packet Transport Systems and WAN are completed. Tasks include using training documents to train personnel and completing knowledge transfers with staff oversight.
  • Under the guidance of staff, test and develop procedures to publish for compliance and telecom operations. Tasks include working on FISMA/NERC CIP documents related to devices used on the telecom packet transport backbone and endpoints. This includes working with compliance teams to meet schedule driven targets.
  • Meet project timelines and milestones, supply deliverables, and provide status updates as requested. Tasks include workload tracking, producing diagram drawings of work completed, and workload balancing.
  • Represent System Operations in technical work groups, such as Equipment Specifications, Maintenance Standards & Procedures, New Systems / Equipment Evaluation, as requested. Tasks include active participation in meetings with organizations within the company, verifying that operational standards are understood and communicate results of meetings with operational staff.
  • Attend and communicate information from technical work groups to team lead to coordinate a group strategy. Tasks include participate in the Project Review and Design process and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with the team and management, working to prevent accidental system outages or problems.
  • Analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems, with understanding of impact on current and future programs and processes.
