Overview

The sustainability compliance program manager leverages moderate subject matter expertise to navigate business challenges within regulatory, compliance, and sustainability functions. Tackles problems of medium complexity, contributing informed analysis and limited project direction. Exercises independent judgment within established frameworks to determine suitable actions. Adheres to guidelines and interprets policies, while also evaluating unique situations and formulating recommendations. Responsible for managing compliance and regulatory inquiries for products or services.

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrates multiple compliance/regulatory/sustainability projects within a large-scale program, spanning diverse functions like engineering, development, and implementation.

  • Manages support requirements for assigned projects, crafting effective budgets and resource allocation plans aligned with established specifications.

  • Leads cross-functional teams, meticulously tracking progress against defined plans, presenting results, and proactively recommending adjustments to the program manager.

  • Develops and maintains clear program communication through comprehensive status reports, issue resolution tracking, and strategic stakeholder engagement.

  • Acts as a dedicated champion for compliance/regulations/sustainability, ensuring strict adherence to all relevant criteria, policies, and laws.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, Environment Science, Sustainability, or equivalent.

  • Tech-savvy and adaptable, effectively navigating technical details.

  • Proven experience managing projects within the relevant industry, adhering to specific regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Typically 2-4 years experience, will also consider a new graduate with exceptional passion and/or skills.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • More than just knowledge, success in this role requires a deep commitment to building a more sustainable and compliant future.

  • Proven ability to leverage software to ensure project transparency, facilitate collaboration, and achieve desired outcomes.

  • Thrives in ambiguous situations, applying creative problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions.

  • Understanding of organization and company product and service offering development process.

  • Proven ability to develop and adhere to project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and alignment with stakeholder expectations.

  • Exceptional communicator, driving project success through clear and impactful communication.

  • Skilled advocate, persuasively aligning diverse stakeholder interests with regulatory demands and securing buy-in for solutions that maximize business benefits.

  • Possesses a global mindset, comfortable collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders across geographic boundaries.

Per Washington State statute, the estimated range of compensation for this job in that location, at the time of this posting, is $90,100 - $138,750. This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
