Structural Engineer  Job Description

Looking for a seasoned Structural Engineer to join the team. In this role, you will be working with a variety of building materials including wood, masonry, steel, and concrete. You will be handling projects of different sizes ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. These projects will span across various types like retail, ground up buildings, pad buildings, tilt-up, multi-use residential, hospitably, and tent structures. Additionally , You will be supporting 5-10 projects at a time, analyzing load spreads including gravity and lateral forces, calculating the stability of buildings, and managing project budgets and timelines. Also, lead a team of junior engineers to ensure on-time completion of project deliverables, well as manage the project from the pre-design stage, creating project schedules and budgets, and implementing project designs and deliverables.

Description

  • support on 5-10 projects at a time including analyzing load spread including gravity and lateral forces, calculate stability of building, manage project budget and timelines, and manage junior staff to complete deliverables on time

  • Project types - Single story tilt-up, retail, ground up building ,pad buildings, multi-use residential, hospitality, tent structures

  • size of projects are typically $10,000 to $100,000 and have timelines of 6 months or less

  • Manage project from pre-design stage, to creating project schedule and budget, and implementing project design and deliverables

  • Manage team of 7 Junior engineers to complete and review designs, do calculations of structures, create project reports, code analysis and creating project plans

  • Review and answer design questions

  • Understand and complete calculations related to permitting, construction, laying out framing plans, and Identify lateral systems

  • Direct team to analyze codes, and advise on process - Code types - IBC(International Building Code) can be found in website & ASCE7 (American Society of Civil Engineers that establishes minimum requirements for a building's structural resistance

  • Review and design in a range of project types including concrete, steel, wood, and masonry structures in diverse market sectors, project size range from $10,000 to $100,000

  • Work on team with Principal engineer to review day-to-day activities during the design & construction process

  • Communicate directly with clients, city/public officials, and other stakeholders involved in your projects.

This position is office-based with core working hours from 9 AM to 4 PM. Flex-time is available
