The role of the Engineering Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize manager-approved projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes requesting resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan and schedule. This role also facilitates the project's objectives and monitors quality control throughout its life cycle. Coordinating activities for manager-assigned projects that enable goals or objectives to be accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters, escalating concerns to the appropriate manager/personnel. Provide guidance and assistance in addressing and navigating politically sensitive issues or conflicting team priorities collaboratively and professionally. Schedule and facilitate project team meetings and coordinate activities of sub-teams. As requested, provide project management coordination and assistance to Senior or other group PMs, which may include: Assist with project tracking and document management. Assist with work plan management and resource coordination. Coordinate with Field Supervisors (FS), Project managers (PM), design engineers, district foreman and other personnel to create and develop logic driven updates to schedules for the transmission projects. Project tracking and document management tasks include: Monitor the milestones, schedule, and budget to keep project on track and on budget. Per designated funding type and work order type (i.e. contractual customer agreement dates), alert staff if additional time or resources are needed. Track and follow up on Action Items assigned to and by the manager or senior PM. Know who to contact when action items are complete, and a subsequent action can begin. Identify, assess, monitor, and control risks on assigned projects. Facilitate risk management activities with assigned project team members. Alert staff to concerns regarding risks and mitigation requirements. Track and maintain project documents in ProjectWise. These documents may come from the manager, or senior PM or may come from other team members or outside agencies or systems. Check dates and decisions on documents that are known to change frequently and update static documents regularly, so the most current information is available. Create and update projects regularly on the Access Road SharePoint site. Assist others outside of TELF with navigating the Access Road SharePoint site. Mark documents and maintain filing system(s), files, emails, and records by compliance requirements. Share and disperse documents only to appropriate personnel.
