DescriptionThis position supports commercial transactions for HP Inc. in the United States and Canada.Specific Responsibilities:Provides legal expertise in support of the entire HP Inc. portfolio in the U.S. and Canada for commercial end-user customers, specifically Hardware (PC and Print), Software, Support and Managed Services.Successfully operates in HP's most complex Managed Services disciplines.Acts as a deal lead including the overall legal strategies and assessment of risk on larger, more complex Managed Services deals while working closely with account and pursuit teams and other stakeholder groups.Leads large, cross-division functional projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives.Develops ideas and strategy and contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas pertaining to recurring legal issues facing the HP business units.Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.Acts as a trusted advisor to the business on legal issues and legal impact of business issues.Drafts and negotiates legal contract terms.Identifies and resolves complex legal issues requiring in-depth consideration of multiple factors.Leads or assists with the resolution of contract disputes with existing customers.Plans and provides training to internal clients on designated legal topics.Education and Experience Required:First level university degree (non-technical).Advanced university degree (e.g., JD/Law Degree, or MBA) preferred.7-10+ years of customer facing contracts, negotiation, or equivalent experience.Experience leading deals and dispute resolution in the IT industry.Knowledge and Skills Required:Understanding of key laws and general principles applicable to closing non-standard contracts.Subject matter expertise on key legal topics including liability, indemnities, intellectual property and privacy/data protection.Demonstrated understanding of HP Products and Managed Services offerings and capabilities.Advanced skills and expertise in negotiating or advising on significant, complex or high value/riskmulti-business unit deals representing the full range of HP's portfolio of Product and Managed Service offerings.Proactive and effective communicator of valuable information to clients and colleagues.Capable of presenting or escalating issues effectively to high-level account and business executives.National and international experience leading deals and dispute resolutions in the IT industry is a plus.#LI-POSTHP Inc. is EEO F/M/Protected Veteran/ Individual with Disabilities.
