Shift - M to F 7am to 330pm GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The CNC Programmer 1 sets up and programs a variety of production machines which may include: CNC Grinders, CNC Cylindrical Mills, CNC Lathes, and multi-axis machines to fabricate a variety of ceramic parts. This position will work closely with operators and machinists daily making new programs and troubleshooting/editing existing programs. (Tasks listed are intended to be descriptive and not restrictive. An employee in this position may perform any of the tasks listed; however other duties may be assigned.) REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED required. 2 + years CNC programing experience or on-the-job training to include completion of 2-year Machine Technology certificate 2 years' experience with various measuring methods including mechanical inspection and CMM Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English. Read mechanical drawings/blueprints including GD and T Vision and depth perception suitable for use of inspection microscopes. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to either stand or walk for extended periods. Ability to explain, train or lead other Operators in machining. Must pass criminal background check and drug screen. Eligible to work in an ITAR environment ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates independent decision-making skills on day-to-day production tasks while offering responsive support to shop floor. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications and makes corrections or improvements to programs as needed for production. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. Resolves machining related quality issues.
