The Senior Research Technician, Cell Culture for Cytiva will join an interdisciplinary R&D department working at the interface of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), cell and molecular biology, and cell culture workflows. They will perform experiments to support a variety of research and product development projects, such as contributing to the development of novel technologies such as GenVoy-ILM lipid nanoparticle reagents.

This position is located in Vancouver BC and will be onsite. At Cytiva our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you'll do:

  • Perform and troubleshoot cell-based (primary) experiments and assays to determine the biological activity of LNPs in vitro including routine validation studies.

  • Collect and analyze experimental data, present data at meetings, provide conclusions and outline future plans, and contribute to technical documentation.

  • Ensure that the necessary lab supplies are available and support our operation of the cell culture laboratory, including training on laboratory/product protocols as needed.

Who you are:

  • Post secondary education in the life sciences discipline (i.e. cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences) and 2+ years of relevant work experience within a lab-based environment.

  • Hands-on experience in primary cell culture workflows, especially primary human T cells, hematopoietic stem cells (HSC), and familiarity with a wide-range of cell and molecular biology techniques such as cell flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, western blot and microscopy.

  • Ability to independently design, conduct, analyze and troubleshoot experiments.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Reporting and presentation of experimental plans and scientific data

  • Delivery of nucleic acids (e.g. plasmid DNA, messenger RNA, siRNA, CRISPR components) to cells by electroporation or lipid nanoparticles

  • Project management methodology and statistical analyses of experimental data

    The salary range for this role is $68,000 – $90,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, health insurance and retirement benefits.
