NewGround Furniture Procurement Specialist in Vancouver, British Columbia

NewGround International is a multidisciplinary firm specializing in strategy, design, build, and interiors. Our distinctive services encompass being a MillerKnoll dealer, among other leading furniture lines. We are currently seeking a Furniture Procurement Specialist to aid in budget creation, generate purchase orders, schedule and coordination installations, and undertake various other tasks for our diverse clientele in finance, retail, and hospitality sectors.

Ideal candidates for this role will excel in collaborative environments, possess prior experience in contract furniture procurement, and demonstrate ease in working with colleagues both locally and across our regional offices throughout North America.

Skills:

  • Understanding of Dealer Design Industry and furniture purchasing

  • Proficient reviewing of furniture plans/installation drawings

  • Proficient in navigating furniture manufacturers' websites and price books

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously

  • Assist with providing information to establish project budgets

  • Issue purchase orders and change orders with manufacturers

  • Review manufacturers' acknowledgements for errors

  • Process manufacturers' invoices for payment

  • Schedule furniture installation for all projects, working closely with the build team

  • Attend site visits and final punch, along with preparing appropriate documentation

  • Collaborate with interior designers, furniture specialists, consultants, and build team on projects, providing guidance across all disciplines for furniture installation coordination

  • Review and resolve any furniture punch issues

  • Prepare documentation for the "Furniture Warranty" section distributed to clients

  • Perform all other related work, as assigned or as apparent

Expectations:

  • Travel required at times to assist with site walkthroughs, furniture installations and final furniture punch

Prerequisites:

  • Diploma in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred

  • Minimum two years of contract furniture procurement experience

  • Knowledge with 20/20 CAP Worksheet or similar procurement pricing software is preferred

  • Possession of a valid G driver's licence is required for rental cars
