PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Assist in the management and coordination on all phases of a project primarily, but not restricted to, the procurement of new machines and/or processes to improve manufacturing operations. DUTIES INCLUDE: Investigates and solves production problems related to tooling, equipment, and processes. Develops, recommends, and implements the installation of changes which will result in the improvement of manufacturing processes or product quality. Coordinates trial runs on proposed changes or on sample parts and evaluates the results. Provides technical advice and instructions to production coordinators and hourly employees. Designs or secures tools and equipment consistent with Federal-Mogul tools design and equipment standards. Assist in development of capital and expense budgets for area of responsibility. Position has the responsibility and authority for quality commensurate with the accountabilities of the job description. Performs other engineering tasks as required.
