Salary range: $58,500-66,000

The Shift Leader assists and supports the Production Supervisor to ensure timely and accurate production in accordance with company safety and quality standards, in order to meet customer requirements. The position will monitor the work of the compounding, pack-out and utility operators and work closely with the Production Supervisor and all team members to drive continuous improvement efforts. The Shift Leader will also be expected to perform Compounding duties on a daily basis and serve as acting Production Supervisor, in his absence.

Your key responsibilities

  • Communicates frequently and consistently with Supervisor and team for scheduling, safety and quality issues.

  • Serves as a mentor for production processes and procedures for team members, as well as helping to train new employees and conduct refresher training when needed.

  • Assists in the execution of the operator cross-training, adheres to schedule and provides input to workforce plan to balance training and productivity

  • On a daily basis, performs Compounding and Utility/Packer duties as assigned, ensures safe operation of all plant equipment

  • Conducts daily safety briefs and stretching exercises, safety audits and quality audits on a daily and weekly basis in absence of the Production Supervisor.

  • Acting Supervisor in the absence of Compounding Supervisor, Provides performance management input to Supervisor.

You bring

  • High School diploma, or GED

  • At least 3-5 years chemical compounding experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience handling chemicals, compounding and understanding of special formula instructions.

  • Equipment operator experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Good communication skills, Spanish speaking helpful, but not necessary.

  • Ability to handle heavy materials including drums (lifting requirement of up to 60 lbs.)
