GENERAL

Maintains and keeps all assigned facilities and grounds clean, safe and in orderly condition; maintains grounds, performs duties

assigned by Director of Maintenance/Grounds or building principal(s).

DESIRED SOFT SKILLS

? Safety awareness-demonstrates knowledge of issues related to equipment, chemical, and work safety and takes steps to

prevent injury to self and others.

? Troubleshooting-gathers information to accurately identify the causes to problems and possible solutions.

? Technical and professional skills-demonstrate knowledge and use of skills necessary for specialized job-related tasks and

stays current with changes as they happen.

? Attention to details-shows concern for all aspects of a job and ensures accuracy and a high degree of completion.

? Independence-is comfortable making necessary decisions without the influence of others.

QUALIFICATIONS

? High school diploma or equivalent.

? Licensed driver in the state of Kansas.

? Must meet all district safety requirements.

? Ability to effectively use district email.

? Must meet all job standards in a time sensitive manner as determined by supervisor.

? Must demonstrate ability to respond quickly to emergencies.

? Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure

manuals.

? Must have reliable personal transportation.

? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentially at all times.

? Must support district mission, goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

? Perform general maintenance duties which include plumbing, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic; fabrication of wood

projects, glass and floor/ceiling tile replacement and door repair or replacement for the purpose of keeping up the

appearance of each building.

? Keeps grounds/playing fields in preparatory condition.

? Pick-up litter, cleans grounds, waters shrubbery and lawns, mows, trims and cultivates shrubs and trees; cleans snow and

debris from sidewalks; assists in emergency cleanup or removal of snow/debris.

? Performs work orders.

? Picks-up, hauls and delivers equipment and supplies.

? Assists in cautioning staff about constraints in the safe use of equipment, facilities or property.

? Inspects for and conducts pest control.

? Follows written and oral directions for job duties; is alert to and reports emergency situations; abides by district safety

standards.

? Attends training activities for self and job improvement.

? Uses equipment, machinery and vehicles provided by the district to accomplish job tasks including but not limited to lawn

mowers, snow blowers, etc., uses vehicle to haul items.

? Manages job requirements with physical dexterity to use small basic hand tools in simple procedures.

? Manages job requirements with ability to communicate and make observations and recommendations.

? Performs minor repairs and adjustments.

? Other duties as assigned.

? Regular attendance is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. While

performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk and hear. Physical exertion to

manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials up to 90+ lbs., stooping, bending and reaching may be required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Some extended hours and multiple demands

from several people are frequently required by the employee.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors, noisy and crowded environments, and work indoors and outdoors year-round in a

variety of temperatures; may be required to wear protective gear including gloves for exposure control. Must manage job
