Under the supervision of the Division Coordinator of Career & Technical Education, the incumbent serves as a member of the College's Success Team to monitor and coordinate outreach to Career & Technical Education students during key intervals to facilitate their timely degree completion. The P/T Program Navigator - CTE/Perkins will function as part of a collaborative interdivisional team within the College and will work closely with the Deans, Department and Curriculum Chairs, faculty of all four schools, and the Center for Academic Counseling and Student Success. The P/T Program Navigator will:

  • Provide designated School Deans & Curriculum Chairs with reports on CTE students' progress on key metrics and indicators.

  • Use data and technological tools to monitor student progress toward completion, transfer, and career placement at key intervals and offer referral to intervention and resources where appropriate.

  • Provide support to enhance and grow internship, applied learning, work-based learning, and service learning opportunities on campus.

  • Provide current career and transfer information related to CTE programs and pathways.

  • Refer students to campus resources for assistance with academic, personal, financial, career, and transfer.

  • Facilitates workshops and training programs based on student needs and the goals of the academic program.

  • Performs related administrative tasks to ensure the effectiveness of the program.

  • May perform other incidental tasks, as required.

    Job Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the field of education, educational administration, recruitment and/or training, or in the analysis of program operations, marketing or customer services are required. The successful candidate must possess a high attention to detail; excellent written and oral communications skills; and an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining organized. They must also have a proactive nature; exceptional judgement; and a collegial and team-oriented temperament. Proficiency in software systems including Microsoft Office applications is required. The ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information; an ability to be flexible and adaptive to changing needs and priorities; a strong student-centered orientation; and an ability to work with a team of diverse faculty, staff and students is essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates with experience in career development, youth development, and serving a diverse population are preferred. A Master's degree in Education, Higher Education, or Youth Development are also preferred.

Additional Information:

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $34.60/hour. No benefits. This position is funded by a grant.
