Arvato Bertelsmann Material Handler in Valencia, California

Responsible for performing a variety of warehousing tasks that can include receiving, storing, counting, picking, packaging, and distributing material, throughout the warehouse facility and to carriers by utilizing lift trucks and other handling equipment. The associate is to maintain established inventory standard levels and ensure tasks are fulfilled in the most effective and accurate manner.

Your tasks

  • Inventory tracking as materials are received into, moved through, and shipped from the warehouse

  • Perform cycle counting of inventoried materials that can include counting, recording, re-counting, and data entry of count results

  • Inspect inventory for defects or damages, including documentation of such into warehouse & inventory management systems

  • Fill and check customer orders, including handing-off of processed packages to carriers

  • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered production equipment

  • Record, stage, process, package, ship, and deliver material & orders accurately, including delivery to internal clients

  • Enter, process, and maintain data in warehouse management (SAP) programs

  • Interface with and assist management, including across departments to ensure key objectives are realized

  • Unload incoming material from truck shipments and assist delivery carriers with the unloading of parcels

  • Inspect, review, verify and record inbound material against delivery paperwork and document any discrepancies through appropriate channels

  • Process all shipping requests through designated carrier systems

  • Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations

  • Follow and maintain 7s Program and guidelines

  • Run daily mailings through USPS postage machine

  • Process all shipping request’s through designated carrier systems

  • Process customer packages using internal shipping systems

  • Handing off all processed packages to carriers at the time of scheduled pick-ups

  • Palletize, wrap, strap, and/or stage packages according to a carrier and/or service level

  • Support the picking or packing of customer/internal orders when needed

  • Any additional tasks that may be assigned to ensure an efficient, safe, clean and goal-oriented work environment

Your Profile

  • Effective communication/comprehension skills – verbal and written form

  • Math Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately

  • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task effectively

  • Computer and RF hand-held scanner use

  • High School diploma (preferred), or GED (required)

  • Previous warehouse experience in receiving, production, or shipping and ability to operate warehousing equipment

  • Previous forklift experience using Stand-up Forklifts & Reach Trucks

  • Operate lift trucks and pallet jacks

  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally

  • Must be able to perform assigned work in a standing posture for extended periods

  • Ability to commute or relocate: Valencia, CA
