About this Role

*This position will be based out of our Vacaville, CA office and require regional travel to worksites.

This job involves managing high voltage transmission, distribution, and substation construction/maintenance projects. PAR Western Line Contractors, LLC (dba QUES) is seeking a Sr. Project Manager is responsible for administrative, technical, financial, and resource management from bid preparation to completion. They oversee all stages of the project, ensuring safety and quality standards are met and meeting deadlines. The Sr. Project Manager must possess excellent communication, listening, public speaking, and teamwork skills. They must cultivate relationships, pull together departments, subcontractors, and resources, and practice patience. The Sr. PM must be adaptable, patient, and able to motivate a team. They must foster relationships with all involved in the project process.

What You'll Do

  • Work with safety personnel to ensure that project is being built in accordance with OSHA and company regulations and that proper training is occurring

  • Responsible for the project controls and contract management

  • Works closely with the construction management to ensure successful delivery of the project.

  • Maintain a professional appearance with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and to provide positive leadership to motivate personnel

  • Define problems, collect information, and establish facts to provide an appropriate resolution

  • Lead pre-construction efforts in bid preparation, contract and exhibit review, and execution planning

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors

  • Setup, organize, update, and maintain electronic and printed files of working documents

  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers

  • Monitor/control construction through communication with superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget

  • Manage contracts to protect company’s interest while maintaining good relationships

  • Review cost reports and evaluate methods to reduce cost while maintaining productivity. Manage budget projection for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors procured on the project. Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly projections and progress for all construction activities

  • Responsible for project cost forecasting, monthly cost to complete development, and accuracy of reporting

  • Responsible for the invoicing or payment application process as well as monitoring the quality of weekly labor and equipment hours, material, and subcontractor reporting.

  • Responsible for productivity, efficient use of materials/equipment, and contractual performance of the project

  • Lead daily, weekly and monthly meetings, as required, including the formulation of the agenda and minutes

  • Develop, submit, track, and maintain all project submittals and requests for information

  • Develop, negotiate, submit, track, and maintain client and/or subcontractor change orders

  • Develop scope of work and project schedules in Microsoft Excel, Project, or Primavera

  • Generate daily, weekly, or monthly meeting documents as required

  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives

What You'll Bring

  • Four-year construction science, construction management, construction engineering, or similar related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project or construction management, estimating, or project controls experience in similar construction on major projects

  • Familiar with or ready to learn corporate systems with preference given to Primavera P6, JD Edwards, QuickBase, and B2W technology platforms.

  • Ability to travel and work on project location, as required.

  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.

  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of project management, project controls, contract management, budgeting, estimating, schedules, negotiations, construction management (technology, equipment, methods), and safety required.

  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize team performance.

  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, and activities.

  • Ability to apply accounting revenue recognition concepts and operations as needed to examine construction operations.

  • Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening) and ability to lead meetings.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $140,000.00/Yr. - depending on experience and qualifications.
