Job Description

Join Danfoss Drives Medium Voltage R&D team as an FPGA Engineer, contributing to product design, maintenance, and exploration of new technologies.

Job Responsibilities

As our new FPGA Engineer your responsibilities are:

  • Design digital logic for FPGA for the control of high-power electronics and provide analysis for new product development.

  • Participate in development and testing operations.

  • Prepare designs for high power electronics, specifications, analysis and recommendations for development of new products.

  • Maintain records pertinent to each project in the form of time, project and work tracking reports, documentation, design journals, sketches, drawings, etc.

Background & Skills

To be succesful in this position you should have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Proficiency in VHDL and C, and C++ programming.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interpret engineering drawings and concepts.

  • Familiarity with digital hardware/firmware design and adherence to software processes.

  • Experience with Xilinx FPGAs, RTL level VHDL design, and Python scripting preferred.

  • Knowledge of Control System Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, and Embedded Software Design desirable.

  • Variable frequency drive experience preferred.

  • Basics of processor systems (e.g., Zynq PS, RiscV, Cortex-M)

  • Experience and/or knowledge of real-time software design, software –hardware interaction with real time operating systems, multithreading, and event driven architectures
