Koopman Lumber, Co. Load Puller in Uxbridge, Massachusetts

Description: The Load Puller is responsible for picking materials to fill orders, and putting away credits to return materials into stock. This individual works with others to check inventory levels to confirm low and out items, to insure proper storage and handling of materials, and to provide a safe and efficient workplace. Specific duties include: \ Knowing the locations of inventory items and being able to properly identify stock and non-stock items according to delivery slip skus and descriptions. \ Using order slips to pull correct materials and quantities for delivery. \ Alerting the Inventory Control Supervisor to low and out items as encountered. \ Replenishing full units of material to the proper rack as old units are pulled through. \ Checking quality of materials pulled for delivery to insure only acceptable materials are shipped. \ Culling unacceptable materials from stock inventory area to assist co-workers in maintaining proper quality levels. \ Alerting the Inventory Control Supervisor to culled and unacceptable materials. \ Must possess or be able to obtain a forklift license. \ Completing Daily Forklift Checklists and Fuel Logs and handing them in daily. \ Assisting the Dispatcher as required to provide information on orders, deliveries, or inventory; assisting with yard and warehouse maintenance and cleanliness; and unloading trucks, pulling loads, or making deliveries; or wherever else assistance may be required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS This position requires a thorough knowledge of the stock Building materials in our inventory, the layout and workflow of the Distribution Center Yard, and material handling considerations including speed, efficiency, and safety. In addition to these

requirements, the load puller must be physically capable of performing all aspects of the job, and pass a fit for duty examination prior to employment and the ability to lift up to 150 lbs without assistance. Load pullers must maintain optimum health and physical

fitness as the job requires throughout their employment at Koopman Lumber. The ideal candidate knows it is essential to the effectiveness of the Distribution Center that materials are pulled quickly and presented properly for delivery to our customers.
