Position: Truck Driver Reports To: DC & Yard Managers Works With: Yard Dispatcher / Load Pullers / Warehouse Pullers / Load Checkers Description: The Truck Driver is responsible for transporting materials to specified destinations. This individual works with others to ensure that the right materials are delivered to the proper locations at the correct times. Specific duties include: \ Possess or be able to obtain a DOT medical card and a valid MA CDL of Class and Endorsements applicable to current fleet assignments. \ Complete mandatory DOT background check information, if your background history is substandard as deemed by Koopman Lumber, we retain the right to terminate your employment. \ Drivers with Class B License may expect stake body, flatbed dump, or box truck assignment; Class A License may additionally expect semi-trailer assignment. \ Possess a class 1-c or better Hydraulics license. \ Completing Daily Forklift Checklists and Fuel Logs and handing them in daily \ Must be able to lift 50 pounds. \ Maintain radio or telephone contact with Yard Dispatcher to receive instructions, resolve problems, or be dispatched to new location. \ Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations filling in all information and turn in to Yard Dispatcher on a daily basis. \ Maintain delivery paperwork according to company and customer requirements. \ Position cleats and load straps around items to secure cargo for transport. \ Clean, inspect, and service vehicle including daily checking of all necessary elements of your pre trip inspection, and properly complete pre- and post-trip inspection reports and service requests. \ Keep trucks clean and presentable at all times inside and out, wash and broom out vehicles weekly. \ Operate equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials. \ Assist in loading and unloading truck manually. \ Obtain customer signature for goods delivered and delivery charges. \ Log goods picked up from job site for return.
