Driver - SNH - Part Time - Days

Department: TRANSPORTATION

Job Summary

The Driver is responsible for safely transporting ambulatory and/or wheelchair enrollees to and from medical appointments utilizing Senior Network Health’s vehicles. Adheres to all Department of Transportation regulatory requirements, New York State traffic laws and MVHS safety standards.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Safely transports enrollees from pickup location to their destinations.

  • Documents all stops along the trip route into assigned work cell phone app based program.

  • Answers incoming phone calls and communicates with dispatcher, team leader or supervisor concerns.

  • Documents pre and post trip inspections daily to assigned vehicle.

  • Uses time management to ensure enrollees arrive to their destination timely.

  • Obeys and follows applicable traffic laws.

  • Utilizes GPS to ensure most accurate route is taken to desired destination.

  • Practices safe driving habits.

  • Keeps interior and exterior of vehicle clean and presentable, following all infection control guidance.

  • Notifies supervisor when vehicle maintenance is needed.

  • Attends and participates in departmental and organizational committees, meetings and activities.

  • Complies with applicable federal/state regulations and MVHS policies including, but not limited to enrollee confidentiality and Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).

  • Attends agency in-services and educational programs and maintains personal growth and development.

  • Routinely updates supervisor of issues or concerns. Clarifies issues and actively addresses concerns in a timely manner.

  • Routinely communicates changes/updates to staff, other departments and supervisor as necessary.

  • Interacts with consumers/family/staff and coworkers in a manner which is clear, professional, respectful, positive, helpful, and which promotes trust.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • Acceptable driving record through the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles.

  • Knowledge of mobile phone applications/GPS applications.

  • Computer literacy, including but not limited to, data entry, retrieval, and report generation.

  • Ability to work with consumers/families of all ages and in a variety of settings, including inpatient facilities and consumer's homes presenting diverse physical conditions and social/cultural environments.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lead, guide and motivate others.

  • Ability to drive to and from a variety of settings in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to remain alert at all times throughout work day or shift.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • Valid New York State Class E driver's license.
