The Director of Graduate Admissions plans, directs, and supervises all graduate admission and enrollment functions for both domestic and international populations. The Director coordinates student recruitment, including marketing, initial application screening, and processing of applications. The Director coordinates financial resources that support graduate studies including diversity fellowships, international merit scholarships, and graduate opportunity funding. The Director also plans, submits, and oversees the office's annual budget. Working with the Office of Continuing and Professional Education the Director coordinates the processing of non-matriculated graduate applications for students planning to matriculate into a graduate program.

  • Oversee and process all SUNY Polytechnic Institute graduate applications. Track and report application numbers, percentages, and term/annual yield data. Coordinate with the Institutional Research Office as needed. Continue to support the implementation of Slate CRM in graduate admissions.

  • Work with each department to ensure uniformity and conformance of admission requirements. Collaborate with the Deans, Chairs, Program Coordinators, and Faculty when additional review is needed. Work with each college and program on continued recruitment and marketing initiatives to increase both domestic and international enrollment.

  • Respond to all graduate inquiries. Assist applicants in completing applications with receipt of transcripts and various supplemental items required for application completion and enabling review. Responsible for all general communication across the entire enrollment cycle from inquiry to matriculation. Communication includes enrollment steps to become a new graduate student, oversight of the Essentials online orientation program, activating email accounts, and access to various student accounts.

  • Collaborate with colleges and departments regarding planning and launching of new academic programs. Participate in appropriate faculty and ad hoc committees. Attend regular meetings with enrollment marketing. Participate as a non-voting member of the Graduate Council.

  • Management of the Graduate Admissions Office including staff supervision.

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to direct reports to ensure goals, programs, activities, and personnel practices are consistent with and contribute to the Institution's goals and strategies. Design and implement operating strategies, plans, and procedures to ensure smooth functioning of SUNY Poly. Lead employees for maximum performance and dedication. Complete performance management feedback and goals per requirements. Other reasonable duties as assigned.

Salary: $95,000 - $105,000

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Master's degree from an institution accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization. In addition, 3 years of experience in Graduate Admissions or Admissions and experience in management and supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal/written communication skills, public speaking ability, attention to detail, a high level of organization, enthusiasm, and a commitment to a collaborative approach.

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to direct reports to ensure goals, programs, activities, and personnel practices are consistent with and contribute to the Institution's goals and strategies. Design and implement operating strategies, plans, and procedures to ensure smooth functioning of SUNY Poly's Graduate Admissions. Lead employees for maximum performance and dedication.
