The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a full-time Coordinator of Accessibility Resources in our Student Accessibility and Wellness department. This position coordinates and monitors College programs and services to assure compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to individuals with disabilities. The Coordinator of Accessibility Resources collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to provide accommodations, support services, and teach self-advocacy for students with disabilities. They will assess individual needs, coordinating accommodations, and promoting a campus culture of inclusivity and accessibility.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Reviews disability documentation to determine eligibility for services and to substantiate requests for reasonable accommodations that facilitate equal opportunities; Coordinates communication between faculty, staff, and prospective and enrolled students with disabilities, and provides on-going consultation and technical assistance to faculty and staff to facilitate equal learning opportunities; Works collaboratively with academic departments, counseling services, and other student support services to address the holistic needs of students with disabilities; Assists individuals in understanding their disabilities and their rights and responsibilities relating to reasonable accommodations; Stays current on accessibility trends, regulations, and technologies, and makes recommendations for continuous improvement; Documents, maintains, and reviews accuracy pertaining to the confidential records of student accommodations to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations; Monitors and documents interactions, case notes, and progress of students with disabilities; Provides training and supports to employees on accessibility best practices, including accessible design principles and assistive technologies; Networks with community-based organizations serving disabled populations; Participates in committees, task forces, and networks to assess and improve accessibility of digital and physical environments; Coordinates daily activities for the office; Other duties related to this job description and as assigned by the Director of Student Accessibility and Wellness. Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and two (2) years of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities OR Masters degree in a related field with one (1) year professional experience working with individuals with disabilities Experience interpreting diagnostic data Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Effective interpersonal communication skills, writing skills Familiarity with assistive technology Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Human Services, Special Education or a related field Higher education experience Special Instructions to Applicants: Official academic transcripts required upon hire.
