Resource Center for Independent Living Benefit Coordinator in Utica, New York

Annual Non-Exempt Salary: $37,849

Job Duties:

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Communicate with RCIL’s leave management company to effectively track and process all STD, FMLA, PFL and Worker’s Compensation claims.

  • Handle the leave administration process from the employee’s initial notice of medical leave to their return to work.

  • Facilitate accommodation requests under the ADA.

  • Communicate with RCIL’s unemployment vendor to effectively manage unemployment claims.

  • Assist with employee insurance benefits and 401k plan.

  • Assist with coordinating various employee benefit events (ex. Benefit Fair, Open Enrollment, Flu Clinics)

Education:

  • An associate’s degree in a related field is preferred; a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Two years of experience in Human Resources highly preferred.

  • Experience with Leave Management including FMLA, PFL and DBL, New York State Unemployment, Workers Compensation, ADA, and Human Resources is highly preferred.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Excellent organization, oral and written communication, customer service, attention to detail, analytical skills, ability to work independently and with a diverse mix of consumers, professionals, and vendors, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
