We are currently looking for a GIS Analyst I/II/III/Sr for our Houston, TX or Owensboro, KY office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position will be responsible for performing GIS tasks associated with maintenance and support of Boardwalk’s PODS ESRI spatial GIS database. These tasks include:

  • Analyzing and converting data sets needed to support pipeline risk evaluations.

  • Developing and managing GIS and data gathering projects with little to no supervision.

  • Planning and coordinating field/mobile data collection projects of all types.

  • Performing GIS analyses, queries, searches, reporting, and data manipulation to meet business needs.

  • Maintaining up-to-date records for GIS related pipeline assets and spatial data.

  • Providing timely feedback and progress of assigned projects.

  • Communicating effectively with other departments.

  • Other duties as required.

    REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Advanced use of ESRI software products.

  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office tools.

  • Understanding of coordinate systems and map projections.

  • Understanding of the PODS ESRI spatial data model.

  • Understanding of database tables and relationships and use of queries.

    PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in creating Python Scripts.

  • Experience using ESRI ModelBuilder software.

  • Experience using ESRI Portal for ArcGIS.

  • Experience working with a utility company (electric, oil/gas, water, sewer).

  • Experience with evaluating Class and HCA pipeline data.

  • Basic knowledge of CAD software.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Cartography, or a related field that includes prior GIS experience; or,

  • Any combination of education and experience with a utility company that provides the equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or Cartography.
