RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM:

  • Assistant Coordinator of Informational Technology

  • Technology Specialist

  • Full-time Computer Technicians

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Assist the Information Systems department to prepare, maintain, and upgrade the District's fleet of technology

QUALIFICATIONS:

(Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Education, Certification/Licensure, Experience, Equipment)

  • Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Work closely in cooperation with the Assistant Manager of Information Systems and all department staff.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize without close supervision.

  • Working knowledge of macOS, Windows, iOS, and ChromeOS devices desired.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Certification/Licensure:

  • Valid Iowa driver’s license desired, but not necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Clean existing District technology.

  • Remove outdated equipment and prepare it for disposal.

  • Receive new equipment, unpack, and prepare it for deployment.

  • Dispose of packaging materials and keep workspaces clean.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and inventory on existing hardware.

  • Run software updates on devices.

  • Relocate technology hardware to accommodate changing needs and facilities changes.

  • Maintain a reliable attendance record.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

None

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Satisfactory health as certified by a competent medical authority.

  • Repetitious walking, bending, lifting, stooping and kneeling.

  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work overhead periodically.

  • Must be capable of lifting 80 pounds periodically.

  • Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking.

  • Drug, tobacco, and alcohol free while working.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Majority of work is done in an office or school setting.

  • Extensive district travel required.

  • No weekend or evening hours will be required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • At-will employee.

  • As-needed Position (typically summer, winter, and spring breaks)

  • Per board policies and administrative guidelines.
