Position Summary:
The postdoctoral fellowship is a temporary period of mentored or supervised training to acquire skills to be a full-fledged psychologist in Illinois. Supervision will be done by a licensed clinical psychologist for one year and will consist of at least one hour per week of face to face supervision. The postdoctoral supervision is required for the provider to solidify core competencies in psychological assessment, psychotherapy delivery, professionalism, evidence-based practices, and supervision and will also allow the psychologist to be mentored in the culture of Carle Foundation Hospital. The postdoctoral fellow may assist in helping with the pre-doctoral internship on an as needed basis.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Doctorate Psychology CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Must be eligible for entrance into a Post Doctoral Program. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Successful completion of a Psychology internship leading to a PhD or DPsych.
Essential Functions:
Performs initial diagnostic evaluations on patients
Develops treatment plans based on initial evaluations
Performs therapeutic modalities to improved behavioral/emotional functioning
Documents evaluations and treatment sessions effectively
Refers as needed to appropriate providers based on needs of the patient
